The First Post…

Tomorrow is my last day at work. It’s hard to believe that I’ve been planning my escape from the cube for the last seven months. As much as I enjoyed the people I worked with, toiling in front of a computer all day long, day in and day out, for no other reason but to be able to sustain a lifestyle, just didn’t feel right to me. I was yearning for creativity, fresh air, sunshine, greenery, authentic human connections, and Life!

It was during a two-week volunteer trip to Peru last September that I knew I belonged out there in the world. It also dawned upon me then that I could have the life my heart desired. All I had to do was allow myself to step out of my comfort zone and just live my dreams. That’s right, just do it!

I have no idea where this trip will lead me or what I’ll do afterwards. After all, isn’t mystery part of the journey that is life? I used to plan everything to the last detail, but I felt limited by that. There was so little room for spontaneity. I’ve since discovered how much freedom one can feel by just letting go and allowing life to take you where it will.

So here I am, ready to leap out into the unknown on my own, completely open to whatever may happen. As the song goes, que sera sera!

Sara, hi! It’s great to hear from you. Thanks for visiting my blog and commenting. Travel fatigue hit me a few days ago, so I’ve decided to slow things down and spend most of my time left doing some volunteering/meditating in Thailand. But I still love it so much out here–I can’t believe I have to return home in less than 6 weeks!

Hope you’re settled back in nicely. I’m sure that you’ll be hitting the road again before you know it! :-) Once a traveler, always a traveler…

      Take care,
